The Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science offers registered nurses the opportunity to extend their career in the specialisation area of their choice. The Emergency Nursing specialisation is ideal for nurses who are currently practising emergency nursing and wish to further develop their professional knowledge and understanding in this area.
Students are exposed to current theoretical knowledge and evidence-based clinical practice, and gain a professional understanding of current debates and issues in the area of specialisation. The diploma empowers students to assess and care for all people who present to emergency departments.
Comprising seven courses, four of which have an emergency or critical care focus, the diploma can be undertaken full-time over one year or part-time over two years. The program is delivered via a blend of online courses and face-to-face teaching on campus.
Graduates have a rigorous grounding in emergency nursing competencies and are prepared for senior positions working within emergency departments.
