An Honours degree is an additional year of study after you have completed your Bachelor degree. You will spend the year researching a particular question in depth. Your research topic is negotiable and is decided after discussion with your supervisor.
From your future employer’s perspective, regardless of your topic, you will be recognised as someone who has clearly demonstrated the ability to independently achieve a complex goal. Honours will distinguish you from the rest of the field with your advanced research skills, your ability to think deeply and creatively, and your refined communication skills. Honours is also the pathway to further study in a research degree.
Entry into Honours is selective and the work at this level is challenging. Discuss your eligibility with the Honours Convenor, then lodge your expression of interest in Honours with the Faculty of Arts.
