During this course, you will learn about play therapy – a suite of approaches and techniques that you can apply in all settings and cultures to enhance the wellbeing of other people. Unlike most other approaches, play therapy has been scientifically demonstrated to help even individuals whose language skills are limited, including children or adolescents with developmental delays.
After completing the course, you will be able to apply play therapy in diverse settings, from schools to remote communities. You can utilise these approaches to help all children, including children who demonstrate behavioural problems, distress, trauma, language difficulties, and other challenges. Furthermore, you will also develop the capacity to help parents and teachers apply many of these approaches and techniques to improve the wellbeing and behaviour of their own children.
